Harold was the youngest child of William and Jane
Gallot, born around 1886.
Harold served as a private with the Auckland Regiment of the 1st New Zealand
Expeditionary Force in WW1. Harold survived the war and
eventually died on Feb 9 1949 at the age of 63. Harold
had received a fairly handsome sum of money as compensation after being
knocked down in an accident involving a
U.S. soldiers and as he had no will, his money got divided amongst the
family. Pearl and Gladys recalled getting 27 pounds each.
Harold died in Cornwall Hospital and is buried in Waikumete cemetery (K/2/5)
